Sound Connections

Our core aims are:
• To increase recognition
• To improve and maintain standards of work
• To develop and sustain opportunities.

These aims are addressed through our core projects:
• MusicLeader London - providing training and continuing professional development pathways (services include training, facilitated networks and information, advice and guidance) for music leaders - people delivering or managing music work with young people - across Greater London. www.musicleader.net

• Youth Music Action - commissioned projects to address strategic needs, which will inform wider models / patterns of working

• Musical Routes - an information, advice and guidance (IAG) service signposting young people, and / or their parents and carers towards high quality musical opportunities across Greater London.

Services & Resources:

• MusicLeader London provides a range of services: we can arrange opportunities for individual music leaders to visit us and discuss their needs, although this is not the main focus of our service. We are also able to respond to individual IAG enquiries about CPD for music leaders by email, telephone or post. Information is also available through our fortnightly e-bulletin.
• We offer a programme of training for practitioners, tutors, artists or teachers who deliver music work with young people and for those who manage music work with young people.
• We have a regular programme of networking seminars including a creative practitioners' forum and a project managers' network.
• Research report compiled to help shape the MusicLeader London programme. The central MusicLeader website also contains a resource of research documents, resource materials relevant to music leadership
• MusicLeader is able offer a conference room at a competitive rate. Suitable for training, meetings and small networking events, and based at the Leathermarket in London Bridge, the room is available for whole day bookings at £100 or half days at £55. It is fully equipped with: free internet access, free flip chart, pens, paper, TV and video. We also have a laptop and projector available to hire at very reasonable rates.
