SPACE
SPACE - supporting art at its source.
Established in 1968 by the artists Bridget Riley, Peter Sedgley and Peter Townsend - SPACE produces dynamic environments where individuals and communities can engage in creative processes. SPACE supports artistic production, widens participation in visual arts and media and fosters the creative potential of individuals and communities.
Our mission is to provide ‘space to create’: supporting the creation of art through the provision of creative environments; ‘space to engage’: widening engagement in artistic practices; and ‘space to develop’: supporting the development of creative individuals and communities.
SPACE fulfils its mission through providing affordable studio space and innovative artistic, educational, media and training programmes that benefit both the individual and the wider community.
